Hi! I’m Jessica. I’m a DC writer. I mostly mostly writes non-fiction (essays), but also dabble in fiction (children and adult) as well.
I hold an MA from Emory and my background is in African American Literature. Usually, you can find my writings on the Washington Post. Though, I’ve also written for SheKnows, Baby Gizmo, xoJane, BlogHer, Babble, and more.
In 2014, I was one of the cast members of the Listen To Your Mother DC show. And in 2015, I was awarded as an honoree in the BlogHER Voices of the Year Impact category for this essay I wrote for The Washington Post.
On this blog, I write tips on everything from how to get unstuck when writing to when and when not to overshare. This is the main kind of thing I do on this blog, but I also design printable quotes, talk about inspirational topics, and feature writers and other persons of interest.
You can find me on Twitter and Facebook. Or you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks for stopping by!
